The valley of Ait Bouguemez (Happy Valley) is located in the middle of a limestone Massif; Stretching over 30 km long with many charming villages; clinging to the rock. People continue to live in the traditional Berber sedentary farmers in the north and semi-nomadic pastoralists in the south. This valley is rich in crops (especially apples). So, this is a lovely, easy and rich trip for you to discover the heart of the Atlas.

Highlights of the Trek
- Duration: 8 days /4 days of walking. otherwise You can hike for 2, 3 or 5 days in Ait Bougumez valley, depending on your availability and your budget. Please contact us for more information.
- Accommodation during this trip: 2 nights in Hotel or Riad, two nights in our guesthouse and 3 nights in teahouse.
- Trip Name: Ait Bougumez alley.
- Max Height: Adazen pass 2200m.

- Grade: Easy, even for families with children (who will doubtlessly appreciate the donkey rides).

Itinerary:

Day 1 Marrakech:
Arrival at the Marrakech airport . Transfer to the hotel or Riad.

Day 2 Marrakech – Azilal – Ait Ziri 1800 m : (250 km).
Departure early morning from Marrakech, the drive offers a beautiful view over the Atlas and Jbilat Mountains, to Azilal through Tmellalet, then continue to famous valley “Ait Bouguemez valley”.
Dinner and overnight in our Guest House (http://www.darafra.com) in the village of Ait Ziri.

Day 3 Ait Ziri – Ifran 2010 m : 4h30 of walking.
Start our hike, great day that allows us to meet the villagers working in the fields. We will be walking between gardens, and then passing through the villages of Timmit, Ighef n’Igher, Ait Ouanougdal till Ifrane village 2010 m. Dinner and overnight in a lodge.

Day 4 Ifran – Ibaklliwn – Ait Imi 2000 m : 5h30 of walking.
We leave the village of Ifrane, climb the mountain side to a pass located on the crest Adazen (2200 m.), we continue by a path, through a forest of juniper and oak trees to reach the village of Rbat (1935 m.), stop for Lunch. In the afternoon, we discover the village of Ibaklliwne and visit the dinosaur tracks. Dinner and overnight in a lodge, in ait Imi village.

Day 5 Ait Imi – Ait Ziri 1800 m : 4 h of walking.
After breakfast, the path leads us to the village of Tabant, the administrative center of the valley, then we go up to the pyramid of TIMIT to visit Sidi Moussa an old fortified granery (2008 m), which offer a nice view overlooking the valley, then we descend the road leading to the villages of Timmite, Aguerd Nouzrou and reach the village of Ait Ziri. Dinner and overnight in guest house.

Day 6 Ait Ziri – Arouss : 5 h of walking
We leave Ait Ziri; we continue our discovery of villages in Ait Bouguemez valley: Idkkalin, Taghida, Agouti… We cross the Tamzrite plateau to reach Ait Said village, Arous valley and wide grassy ledge of Azibs Arous, a beautiful structure built of stone. Stop for Lunch, and then go back to the Ait Said village. Dinner and overnight in lodge.

Day 7 Arous – Azilal – Ouzoud cascades – Marrakesh : (280 km).
Hike for 1h30 from the Arouss gorges to the village Tighza, where we take our minibus to Ouzoud cascades via Azilal, stop for lunch, then continue to Marrakech. Overnight at the hotel or Riad.

Day 8 Transfer to the airport, « End of our services. »

Cost details
NB: The price can change depending on the number of people. So please contact us with these important detail first so that we can get back to you on the new cost.

Costs we provide include the followings:
- picks up & drops by private car/Van/Bus/ Taxi.
- All your standard Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trek.
- two nights in our guesthouse, 3 nights in teahouse, two night in the Hotel or Riad.
- A highly experienced, helpful and friendly government license holder English speaking Guide
- Muleteers and mules to carry your baggage and our equipment.
- cooker will prepare hot meals with attention towards variety and hygiene and nutrition to serve you.

Excluded from costs are the following:
- Lunch and dinner in Marrakech.
- All kinds of drinks like beer, coke/fanta/sprite, and alcohol.
- Travel Insurance (Essential).
- Personal trekking equipment.
- Tips for staffs and driver's.

Trekking equipment checklist When selecting your personal items, keep in mind the number of days you’ll be camping, the time of year and the altitude, we advise our clients bringing these items but depending of season other ways you can contact us.
