Tassaout Valley Trekking Itinerary
Day 01 : Marrakesh
Reception at the Menara airport’s and Transfer to hotel or riad.
Day 02 : Marrakech | lbarrage | Sorne: 3h 30m of walking
After a short transfer of about 60 km from Marrakech, we arrive at the village of Taghoulite, where we meet our mule drivers, who will accompany us throughout the trek. We begin our hike by walking through traditional Berber villages and their small cultivated fields, offering a glimpse into rural life in the High Atlas Mountains.
We reach the peaceful Ait Mhlli Valley, where we stop for a scenic picnic lunch surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, we continue our trek, passing through the villages of Ait Malk, Aït Mhlli, and Aït Himmi, each with its own charm and traditional architecture.
Dinner and overnight stay in a bivouac (camp), under the stars, offering a truly authentic mountain experience.
Day 03 : Sorne | Ighrem | Alili Gorge : 4h 30m of walking
After climbing the Tawraset Pass, which offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, we continue our journey across high grazing lands toward the village of Ighrem. From there, we ascend to the Tomlilte Pass, where we take a break and enjoy a scenic picnic lunch in the heart of the High Atlas.
In the afternoon, we begin our descent into the dramatic Alili Gorge, with its rugged terrain and wild beauty. This part of the trail offers a unique experience of Morocco’s remote landscapes and untouched natural environment.
Dinner and overnight in a bivouac, surrounded by silence and stars in this peaceful mountain setting.
Day 04 : Alili Gorges | Tassaout | Ait Hkem: 4h 30m of walking
We leave our camp and begin the day’s trek, walking through a patchwork of fields and traditional Berber villages on our way to the stunning Tassaout Valley. The trail offers a peaceful and scenic route, with opportunities to observe daily rural life in the High Atlas.
After passing the village of Taourirte, we begin a steady climb toward Aït Hkem. This section of the hike takes approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes and rewards us with beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes.

Day 05 : Ait Hkem | Assaka | Tassraft : 4h 30m of walking
Discover the stunning natural landscapes and vibrant colors of the High Atlas Mountains. We begin the day with a scenic descent through the villages of Aït Hkem and Aït Iran, offering panoramic views and a glimpse into traditional Berber mountain life.
Our route continues to the village of Assaka via the Tizi N’Oussaka Pass, where we stop for a picnic lunch surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the mountains.
In the afternoon, we cross a dramatic gorge before arriving at the charming village of Tarasst.
Dinner and overnight stay at the camp, immersed in nature and local culture.
Day 06 : Tassraft | Ait Oumghar : 4h 30m of walking
We begin the day with a climb up Tarast Mountain, where we are rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding red earth hills and terraced fields—a stunning example of traditional Berber farming landscapes. After crossing a typical mountain village, we descend toward our lunch spot, which offers a panoramic view overlooking the Aït Adel Dam.
In the afternoon, we continue our trek through varied terrain, eventually reaching the peaceful village of Aït Oumghar.
Dinner and overnight stay at the camp, surrounded by the beauty and serenity of the High Atlas Mountains.
Day 07 : Ait Oumghar | Marrakech:
We set off for our final day of trekking, walking for approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes through the beautiful landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, enjoy the last glimpses of traditional villages and terraced fields before reaching the meeting point with our driver and vehicle.
From here, we begin our return journey to Marrakech, arriving in the afternoon.
Overnight stay in a comfortable hotel or traditional riad in the heart of Marrakech.
Day 8 : Hotel | Airport
Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
