Morocco Desert and Draa valley Hiking Itinerary

Day 01 : Marrakesh

Reception at the Menara airport’s and Transfer to hotel or riad.

Day 02 : Marrakech | Ouarzazate | Zagora | Dunes of Nasrat

We depart early for Ouarzazate, traveling through the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters. As we descend, the landscape transforms into the striking Sub-Saharan dry regions of Morocco, leading us to the lush Draa Valley. Next, we cross the rugged Saghro Mountains via the Tinififite Pass (1,660 m) and arrive at the village of Agdez. From here, a winding road takes us through charming villages and palm groves until we reach Zagora. At Zagora, we meet our local camel team and embark on a short 1 hour and 30-minute camel trek to our first camp at the foot of the dunes.

Day 03 : Dune Nasrate | Sidi Salah Tidri

We journey past the impressive Nasrate Dunes and cross a vast plateau before reaching the oasis village of Sidi Salah, where we stop for lunch just outside the village. In the afternoon, we trek through the rolling sand dunes until we arrive at our campsite.

Day 04 : Tidri | Dunes Erg Sahel

Explore the fascinating Tumulus Larjam site, one of the earliest signs of human occupation in the region. Heading south, the route alternates between furrowed Saharan dunes and expansive open spaces. We set up camp among the golden dunes of Erg Sahel, where lunch is served at the campsite.

Day 05 : Sahel Dunes | Erg Lahniti

We depart from the dunes of Erg Sahel, heading west for a memorable journey through the vast Saharan landscape. Along the way, we cross open spaces scattered with ancient pottery fragments, before arriving at the striking dunes of Erg Lahniti. Lunch is enjoyed en route to our campsite.

Day 06 : Erg Lahniti | Oulad Driss

We traverse the stunning dunes of Lahniti and Daraa before reaching the vast Oulad Driss palm grove, the largest in the region. After lunch at the campsite, enjoy a short camel ride tour in the afternoon.

  • Overnight: Desert camping under the stars.

Day 07 : Oulad driss | Ouarzazate | Marrakech

After breakfast, we pack up our luggage and begin the journey back to Marrakech by transport, retracing the same route. Lunch will be served along the way.

Day 8 : Hotel | Airport

Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
