Located south of the Toubkal Massif, Jebel Siroua (3,305 m) is an ancient volcanic mountain range known for its dramatic landscapes, traditional Berber culture, and unique heritage. This region is dotted with kasbahs and fortified villages featuring attics known as Igoudar, which are powerful symbols of enduring local traditions.

At the base of these villages, fertile fields are irrigated by mountain streams and used to cultivate barley, wheat, saffron, and almonds. Local women are renowned for weaving beautiful Berber carpets, which they sell at the vibrant Taznakht souk. Sheep farming is another major livelihood; seasonal sheepfolds, known as Azib, are used by Berber shepherds during the spring and summer months.

Visible from the summit of Mount Toubkal, Jebel Siroua is often referred to as a “natural water tower” due to the snow that accumulates between December and March. This stunning region is an ideal destination for trekking and hiking, offering panoramic views, remote valleys, and unforgettable cultural encounters.
