Atlas Mountains and Morocco Desert Trip Itinerary
Day 01 : Marrakesh
Reception at the Menara airport’s and Transfer to hotel or riad.
Day 02 : Marrakech | My brahim | Tizi oussem village, 4 hours hike
We begin with a transfer from Marrakech to the High Atlas Mountains via the picturesque gorges of My Brahim. Our journey brings us to the village of Aguersiwal (1,600 meters), the starting point of our trek.
From here, we begin the ascent toward the Tizi n’Tacht Pass (2,200 meters), enjoying stunning panoramic views over the Azzaden Valley. After the descent, we arrive at the charming village of Tizi Oussem (1,850 meters), where we have dinner and spend the night in a traditional Berber cottage.
Day 03 : Tizi oussem village | Tizi Mzzik |Imlil | Ait ben haddou or Ouarzazate, 4hours 30min hike
We continue our ascent along a mule track to reach Tizi Mzzik Pass (2,500 meters), where we enjoy our final panoramic views of the surrounding High Atlas Mountains. From the pass, we begin our descent to Imlil, a picturesque village nestled in the valley.
After lunch in Imlil, we transfer via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Road toward Ait Ben Haddou or Ouarzazate. Upon arrival, we check in for an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel.
Day 04 : Ait ben haddou or Ouarzazate | Skoura | Tagddilte
We travel through the scenic Skoura palm grove, the fragrant Valley of Roses, and the dramatic landscapes of the Dades Valley. Our journey continues to the village of Tagdilte (1,600 meters), the starting point for our trek across the Jebel Saghro massif. Dinner and overnight stay in a local cottage in Tagdilte.
Day 05 : Tagdilte | Almou n’ouareg
Our hike begins with a crossing of an arid plateau, dotted with small oleander oases—traditional land of the Ait Atta nomads. We then begin a steady climb to reach the Ouazerzam Pass at 2,450 meters, offering stunning views over the Jebel Saghro Massif and the distant Mgoun Mountains.
We descend to Almou n’Ouareg (2,300 meters), where we set up camp for the night. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.
Walking time: Approximately 5 to 6 hours.
Day 06 : Almou n’ouareg | Igli
We continue our trek toward Kouaouch Peak (2,600 meters), where we’re rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views over the volcanic landscapes of the Saghro Massif. After taking in the scenery, we begin our descent toward Tasgdilt, passing through rugged terrain and remote mountain paths. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp in Igli.
Walking time: Approximately 5 to 6 hours.
Day 07 : Igli | Bab n’Ali | Nkob | Ouled driss
After exploring Bab n’Ali, we take a 20 km off-road track to reach Nekoub, then continue on the asphalt road through the scenic Draa Valley, heading toward Ouled Driss. Dinner and overnight stay at the desert camp.
Day 8 : Ouled driss | Oued naam
We walk across a sandy desert, occasionally traversing rocky plateaus dotted with Tamarisk and Acacia trees, offering a classic Saharan landscape. The route provides a peaceful immersion in the silence and vastness of the desert. Dinner and overnight stay near the small dunes of Oued Naam, under the stars.
Walking time: Approximately 6 hours.
Day 9 : Oued naam | Oued laatach
We continue our trek through the dunes of Bouguern, enjoying the shifting sands and silence of the Sahara. Our route then takes us toward Oued Laatach, crossing a beautiful stretch of desert landscape.
Dinner and overnight stay at the desert camp.
Day 10 : Oued laatach | Dunes of Abidlia
We continue our journey through the same desert landscape, now with increasingly larger dunes as we progress deeper into the Sahara. The path leads us to the stunning dunes of Abidlia, one of the most beautiful dune fields in the region. Dinner and overnight stay at a desert camp nestled in the heart of the dunes. Walking time: Approximately 6 hours.
Day 11 : Dunes of Abidlia | Foum Zguid | Marrakech
After breakfast, we transfer by 4×4 vehicle across the dry Iriki Lake and through the stunning desert landscapes en route to Foum Zguid. From there, we continue the journey back to Marrakech, crossing diverse terrains that highlight the beauty of southern Morocco.
Upon arrival in Marrakech, we settle in for the night at a traditional riad or comfortable hotel.
Day 12 : Hotel | Airport
Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
