Begin your unforgettable desert trekking adventure from Ouarzazate, crossing the lush palm groves of the Oued Draa, surrounded by ancient ksours and fortified villages. As you move south, the scenery transforms, after passing a rugged rock barrier, the green valley gives way to the vast Sahara.
The oases of Oulad Driss and M’Hamid offer the last touches of greenery before the real desert begins. Soon, soft sands appear, gradually rising into towering golden dunes. These dunes lie within the fossil riverbed of the Draa Valley, once the Sahara’s longest river, stretching 1,200 km from the Atlas Mountains to the Atlantic.
Over five and a half days, your trek will take you across the Bani Mountains and into the heart of Morocco’s southern desert. Along the way, you’ll pass scattered nomad camps, herds of camels, and unending dunes—each step bringing you closer to the spectacular Dayet Chegaga dunes, one of the most breathtaking landscapes in Morocco.
Perfect for lovers of nature, culture, and solitude, this journey blends history, scenery, and adventure.
